The Troy women’s golf team came home with its first team title of the season on Monday, finishing first out of 10 teams in the Mimosa Hills Intercollegiate hosted by Appalachian State.

Going into day one on Sunday, Troy had a plethora of impressive individual finishes during the regular season, but no first-place team titles.

Despite this, the defending Sun Belt champions locked in and reached their first victory as a team in the two-day tournament with a combined score of 19-over par.

Troy’s round one ended with a second place tie, but the team rallied in the final round to take the first place spot with 298.

Bianca Lohbaeur finished with the seventh-best score in the tournament after shooting 3-over par in round one. Her even par scorecard in the final day put her 3-over par for the tournament, and was a big part of Troy’s success.

Sarah Harrison and Antonia Paote tied for 11th place with an identical score of 5-over par 144. Paote’s 6 birdies on Sunday was a team high.

Freshman Eva Fabricius-Bjerre finished in a tie for 26th place after her two-day score totaled 9-over par.

Lindsey Harrison was also placed in the top 40 for the second consecutive week. Harrison finished 11-over par and was the only player on her team to hit an eagle on a par-5 hole in round one.

The Trojans will be back in action for their season finale on Sunday at the Brickyard Collegiate in Macon, Georgia.
